Chalk (Calcium Carbonate)
Traditional dyeing assist, used for centuries to adjust pH and brighten colors in natural dye baths. Chalk is especially helpful when working with madder, cochineal, and other reds and pinks that respond well to a slightly alkaline environment. It can also be used to balance overly acidic dye baths.

Instructions for Use

Add 1–2 teaspoons per liter of dye bath when working with madder or cochineal to improve clarity and brightness of color.
