Description
This basketweave matka silk is one of the most beautiful and characterful silks we know. Handwoven from thick yarns spun out of broken or leftover Bombyx mori fibres, it has a wonderfully textured surface yet remains soft and free-flowing.
The weave itself is created with two-ply threads woven over two weft threads, producing a distinct basket structure with depth and body. Despite its texture, the fabric drapes gracefully, resists wrinkles, and takes natural dyes with exceptionally high saturation.
Perfect for clothing, this mid-weight silk is light without being sheer, making it ideal for dresses, jackets, skirts, or statement pieces that need both presence and movement.
